Be Here Now
September 2015
Luna Rienne Gallery is pleased to present Be Here Now, the title of both their new parklet and two-man show featuring artists Reuben Rude and Daniel James Burt.
Be Here Now pontificates peoples’ propensity to reminisce about the past, worry about the future, and criticize present situations that don’t pertain to them. Alternately, this exhibition is about immersing one’s self in their direct environs.
This concept plays out not just on artistic level, with paintings, assemblages, and sculpture in the gallery rooms; but also on a community level, with a brand-new parklet in front of the gallery, designed and built by Rude.

The Line Up
August 2015
The Line Up is an inquisition of "line" and how the properties of this intrinsic visual element influence the formal aspect of the two-dimensional plane. It features Bauhaus-inspired hand-cut vinyl pieces from t.w.five and signature works on paper and canvas that blend intuitive instinct with mathematical intent from Kelly Ording.

Rising Sun
June 2015
Rising Sun represents Otto’s latest perspective on the increasingly challenging times artists face in a city undergoing very apparent transition, and depicts a new chapter that hopes for a brighter future. Competing forces, reinvention, and renewal play a role, and are all connected to a larger story of survival.
This collection builds on his last body of work, Rising Tides, which centered around the concept that turbulent times invoke a need to make peace through acceptance.
Symbolic of new beginnings, Rising Sun contains a strong use of white against a restrained color palette, providing a sense of remaining open-minded to change. Similar themes carry out across the new series of work, consisting of mixed media paintings, both large and small, that explore new techniques and materials. Additionally, all-new sculptural work made of wood and neon help set the stage for what will be his tenth solo exhibition in San Francisco.

From Darkness Comes Light
May 2015
From Darkness Comes Light is a group show featuring the work of Monty Guy, Alec Huxley, Leon Loucheur, Delphyne V, and JS Weis. It addresses both the figurative and literal notions of the concept – subject matter and painting technique. All five artists are intrigued by the balance of dark and light: youthful innocence vs. worldly wisdom, nature vs. society, reality vs. fantasy, black vs. white, cynicism vs. optimism.
